At CSUSM, all students self-enroll in their courses. You are expected to self-enroll into your classes well in advance of attending orientation. There is no course enrollment activity at orientation.
To assist you with self-enrollment, the University provides both training and resources, including:
· How to Enroll the Cougar Way Workshops (highly recommended)
· New Student Advising and Enrollment Tutorial (required)
· Academic Advising support options (available throughout the summer, after you have self-enrolled)
The training you will receive from both the Workshop and Tutorial will introduce you to important advising and enrollment tools you will be using your entire academic career at CSUSM. You will learn about graduation requirements, How to Enroll the Cougar Way and which courses to take your first semester. Please check your Student Center in myCSUSM for your specific enrollment date. Transfer Student self-enrollment dates begin on and after May 20, 2019. First Year Student self-enrollment dates begin on and after June 10, 2019.
Cal State San Marcos will be pre-enrolling first year students in anywhere from 1 to 3 required classes for your major to assist you in a timely graduation. You will see these classes appear the week of June 3, 2019. You will be able to make adjustments to this schedule and add additional classes the week of June 10, 2019. Any adjustments to your major need to be made prior to May 31, 2019 for this pre-enrollment process. If you change your major after you made a reservation for Orientation you will need to contact Orientation to verify your new major is still present that day. Note that some CSUSM majors are impacted and students cannot change into them after admissions (Ex: Nursing, Kinesiology, Biological Science, and Nursing - see Nursing FAQs).
