2020/21 Employee Engagement Survey Results
FAS is committed to continuous improvement in all areas, and has worked with individual departments to create the goals listed below to address opportunities for improvement based on survey results.
Results organized by Subdivision and Department:
- FAS Administration
- Safety, Health & Sustainability
- Goal: Include employees in the performance evaluation process through inventory of their own accomplishments, and ensure evaluations are completed by June 30, 2022
- Goal: Improve workload equity and address employee stress levels by hiring and training new professional staff and student employees, in addition to offering employee wellness opportunities by May 31, 2022
- Goal: Supervisors will assist employees to identify fiscally responsible professional development opportunities and encourage attendance by May 31, 2022
- VPFAS Office & Travel Desk
- Goal: The Travel Office will host five college-specific Q+A sessions to improve communication and build trust with faculty by June 30, 2022

- Budget Office
- Goal: Cross-train two budget office staff to ensure backup for the monthly LCD process by 6/30/2022
- Goal: Expose budget office staff to processes in Fiscal Services, FSO, and Student Financial Services, as well as special projects the Budget Director works on as training tool and as quality assurance mechanism by October 31, 2022
- Fiscal Services
- Goal: Modify weekly staff and department meetings to increase sharing of information, discuss areas for improvement, celebrate achievements and provide opportunities to staff to lead or present at meetings – ongoing
- Goal: Manage workload through strategic hiring and redistributing work to be equitable to be completed by June 30, 2022
- Goal: Provide two scheduled live and recorded training for Hospitality and ProCard to the campus community throughout the calendar year
- Goal: Increase cross training for new employee. Get Ray involved with Axiom Position Management to utilize his knowledge, experience, and area of interest, by June 15, 2022 (FSO)

- Student Financial Services
- Goal: SFS will implement four cross-trainings and a completion of our preexisting SOP project for each position's procedures by 12/31/2022

- Goal: Management will engage staff to actively participate in the development of a strategic plan to create a shared vision for organization’s purpose and to use as a tool to communicate Corporation contributions by September 30, 2022
- Goal: Management will continue to provide maximum flexibility in staff telecommuting arrangements and seek input from staff regarding adoption of hoteling software by March 30, 2022

- Goal: FDM will host a subdivision “Summer Olympics” to improve spirit of cooperation by October 31, 2022

- Goal: UPD will increase the number of survey responses gathered by scheduling 1:1 meetings between managers and employees to encourage more participation in employee engagement survey by October 31, 2022
- Goal: UPD will increase engagement and communication to and with faculty by engaging with the Provost’s Office and Faculty Affairs, and will provide UPD service overview at new faculty orientation and at faculty engagement events by May 31, 2022
