The Schmidt Graduate Scholarship in Literature and Writing

This merit based scholarship will be awarded to quality students in the Literature and Writing Graduate program. Two students will be selected for a $2,000 scholarship for their first semester of the graduate program. The Schmidt scholarship is awarded to incoming graduate students.

Bob Schmidt manages the Brandes Institute, the thought-leadership division of San Diego-based investment manager Brandes Investment Partners. Working with investment practitioners and academics worldwide, Bob helps develop and share ideas addressing diverse investment-related topics. He also is a lecturer at UCSD’s Rady School, teaching communication principles to Master of Finance graduate students. Bob earned an MA in Literature & Writing from California State University, San Marcos and a BA (magna cum laude) from Duquesne University. His commitment to enhancing opportunities for research and writing for graduate level students at his alma mater prompted him to fund this fellowship.
