Hello! I have been with CSUSM for 8 years; 3 years as a student and student assistant and 5 as a staff member. Graduated in 2016 and came back as a full-time staff in 2018! I love this university and community and am glad to be a part of it.

I grew up in Southern California with my family. From the time I could walk, I was always on the move. I would climb anything and ride just about anything with wheels. One of my biggest passions was creating, from writing to painting to building. Art was one way to communicate ideas and expressions that I didn’t have language for yet.

Family, friends, and God have been some of the biggest inspirations both in my life and art. Another area that has influenced my art is growing up with health challenges. My support system provided a way for me to grow into who I am today and that comes out in almost every piece of art that I get to complete.

"The Covering"

As a tree has leaves that provide its covering, so is it with my family, friends, and God. To me the best way to represent how I am covered by those around me is a full tree. The background is full of color and bubbles to show the joy, life, love, faith, hope, dreams, and laughter that encompassed within a life.

"Heart Journey"

In the bible there is a scripture that says “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.” This verse made me think of all the areas in my life that I had a ‘hard heart’ towards people, myself, situations in life, and God. I realized I wanted a heart that was alive, one that was thankful for breath in my lungs, one that didn’t hold onto the situations that hurt, and one that was willing to love again. I wanted a heart full of life.
