The Innovation Hub at CSUSM introduces “Game on!”. This program is tailored  for students, offering an extraordinary opportunity to connect with industry leaders relevant to their career fields, while immersing themselves in the world of video games. Through captivating gaming tournaments, interactive workshops, and insightful networking, Game On! enables students to not only showcase their gaming prowess, but also foster mentorship opportunities and potential career prospects.

Social Innovation Challenge

The Social Innovation Challenge is an ideation competition where students or student groups compete to solve real-world problems. The goal of this challenges is to foster real-life, innovative solutions to specific challenges facing our communities. During the challenge, students or student groups will work as a team to develop an innovative approach, product, service, or program and present their ideas to be judged by a panel of innovative and entrepreneurial experts.

Entrepreneur Speaker Series

The Entrepreneur Speaker Series is an inspiring event that brings together accomplished founders to share their remarkable journeys in building successful businesses. Join us for an evening of insightful conversations, where our esteemed speakers will delve into the challenges, triumphs, and pivotal moments that shaped their entrepreneurial paths. This event is designed to empower and enlighten students, offering invaluable lessons that can guide them on their own entrepreneurial journeys.

Quick Pitch Competition

Get ready to showcase your entrepreneurial spirit at the Quick Pitch competition, hosted by the Innovation Hub each semester! Inspired by the hit TV show "Shark Tank," this exciting event invites students from diverse academic backgrounds to present their innovative business ideas. It's a platform where creativity knows no bounds, and participants have the opportunity to impress a panel of judges with their pitches. The Quick Pitch competition is your chance to shine and turn your dreams into reality. Join us each semester for an electrifying experience that celebrates innovation and fosters the next generation of visionary leaders.

The Innovation Fellows

The Innovation Fellows program establishes and nurtures innovation and entrepreneurial opportunities for students, faculty members, as well as community and industry partners. To ensure comprehensive representation, five Fellows are carefully chosen to represent each college and the University Library. Their collective efforts are focused on translating research findings, discoveries, and entrepreneurial visions into tangible applications and processes that deliver meaningful benefits to society.

TOM

TOM@CSUSM, founded in 2020, is a student-led group that aims to address societal issues through innovative designs and ideas. TOM, an acronym for Tikkun Olam (Makers), is a Hebrew saying that means "to heal the tears in the souls of the world". When this principle is combined with the Maker movement, solutions to social problems can be addressed readily with student centered ideas at the helm. TOM@CSUSM is supported by the Innovation Hub and TOM Global Inc.
