Syllabus & Prompt Language

Syllabus Language

The Writing Center's mission is to be a welcoming learning environment where certified student consultants offer you constructive guidance at any stage of the writing process--idea generation, argument development, polishing of sentences and more.  The WC reviews the prompt and asks guiding questions, as you work to develop compelling texts.  Additional services include assistance with Academic English, study space, writing workshops, and small group sessions. Walk-ins are welcome, or you can reserve an appointment by visiting the Writing Center Site or calling (760)-750-4168. You will find the center in ELB 273! They are open M-Th, 9-6 and F, 9-2.

Prompt Language

You can insert the below statement in your assignment prompts. If there is a particular aspect of the assignment on which you would like students to focus, feel free to include that in the statement.

I recommend visiting the Writing Center (ELB 273) at any stage of this assignment. You can walk-in or reserve an appointment. Go to the Writing Center or call 760-750-4168.

Schedule Links

In your schedule, you can include a link to the Writing Center scheduler. Copy and paste any of the following next to dates preceding assignments that could benefit from writing support. For volume and staffing reasons, we appreciate any notice about any recommended visit dates. Please email writing@csusm.edu a few weeks ahead so we can prepare for your students; without notice, we may not be able to meet students.
