Change Course Format

Why Do This

By default the course center content area is divided into sections by topics. You can change this to a weekly format so that each section displays the week and dates. The start date can be set to any day of the week, which will determine how the weeks are displayed when using the weekly format. You can also choose a grid format or collapsed topics format.

Weekly Format

  1. Log onto Cougar Courses and go to the main page of your course.
  2. In the Administration block, click Edit settings.

  3. Scroll down to the Course format section and change the Format dropdown to Weekly format.

  4. Change course start date to display first day of class.

  5. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Save and display. Your course content can now be organized by weeks.

Grid Format

  1. Log onto Cougar Courses and go to the main page of your course.
  2. In the Administration block, click Edit settings.
  3. Scroll down to the Course format section, click on the > in front of Course format to expand the options, click on current format title, choose Grid from the drop down menu.

  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page then click on the Save and display button.

  5. Add images to each grid by clicking on the Change image link in each grid.

  6. Select the choose a file button to locate an image or drag it into the add image box.  Click on the Save changes button.

Collapsed Topics Format

  1. Log onto Cougar Courses and go to the main page of your course.
  2. In the Administration block, click Edit settings.

  3. Scroll down to the Course format section, click on the > in front of Course format to expand the options, click on current format title, choose Collapsed Topics from the drop down menu.
