Thesis Workshops

FALL 2018 Schedule 

  • Saturday, October 6 from 10am to 2pm in KEL 1103
  • Saturday, October 27 from 10am to 2pm in KEL 1103
  • Saturday, November 10 from 10am to 2pm in KEL 1103
  • Saturday, December 1 from 10am to 2pm in KEL 1103

What are "thesis writing workshops"? Thesis writing workshops or Thesis Retreats, are hosted by the CSUSM Writing Center and are an opportunity for you to accomplish work on your thesis in a supportive, distraction-free environment.

What time are the workshops? Each workshop falls on a Saturday. We work from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

Who can attend? Any continuing graduate student working on a thesis, special project, or dissertation is welcome to attend the retreat. You can be at any stage of the thesis writing process, including preparing your proposal. In addition, students working on revision of a GWAR paper can also attend.

How many spaces are available? Attendance is limited to 15 participants per day. There are ten computer cubicle workstations available and table space for three to five laptops. 

The CSUSM Writing Center will be providing support and materials to all workshop attendees, including:

  • A quiet, comfortable space to write in for up to four hours
  • A knowledgeable writing consultant to offer assistance throughout the day
  • Office supplies & Internet access
  • Free snacks and caffeine!

Cost: FREE
