Resilient Entrepreneur Program Director

Howard Chan is an educator and entrepreneur dedicated to helping people turn ideas into meaningful opportunities. His experience spans engineering, education, entrepreneurship, and community development, including founding Cori, a STEM-based product company where he designed, manufactured, and sold hands-on cardboard construction kits that empowered children to build and create. 

At the CSUSM Innovation Hub, Howard teaches the Small Business Academy and leads programs connecting education, industry, and entrepreneurship. He also works directly with entrepreneurs and small businesses through consulting and mentorship and serves on the boards of nonprofit organizations, helping strengthen their strategy and long-term sustainability. Howard holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Santa Clara University, a California Multiple-Subjects Teaching Credential, and a Master’s in Cross-Cultural Teaching from National University. Drawing on his experience as an engineer, educator, and business owner, Howard is passionate about developing entrepreneurial mindsets and helping people transform creative ideas into action and impact.
