The Anne Neufeldt Staff Hero Award
Recognizes a Staff member (MPP or Non-MPP) for their contribution toward the achievement of the university’s mission and demonstrated service to the campus community. The recipient of this award may be selected based on a career of achievement or for extraordinary service toward a single event.
The Harvey Neufeldt Faculty Hero Award
Recognizes a faculty member selected for their contribution toward the achievement of the university’s mission and demonstrated service to the campus community. The recipient of this award may be selected based on a career of achievement or for extraordinary service toward a single event.

Faculty Awards
Outstanding Faculty Awards
- The Outstanding Lecturer Award - Recognizes a lecturer who significantly contributes to student learning, advances the University mission of educational excellence, and demonstrates dedication to our diverse student community.
- The Scholarship & Creative Activity Award - Recognizes a current tenure/tenure-track or lecturer faculty member whose scholarship and/or creative activity contributes significantly to their field.
- The Service Leadership Award - Recognizes a current tenure-track or lecturer faculty member (including counselors, coaches and librarians) whose service to the campus and/or the wider community contributes to CSUSM’s classification as a community-engaged institution.
- The Teaching Innovation & Excellence Award - Recognizes a tenure/tenure-track or lecturer faculty member who introduces innovative techniques, methodologies, exercises, methods of delivery and/or technologies in teaching.

This year (2024-2025) a deserving Staff or MPP member will be recognized for their significant achievements in advancing the University’s goals in the areas of diversity, inclusive excellence, educational equity, and social justice. (The award alternates each year between faculty and staff/MPP.)
