Social Justice is the Cornerstone of Public Health
Everyone deserves equal rights and opportunities, including the right to good health. However, structural inequities and systemic racism continues to be a problem in the U.S. For real change to happen, we must acknowledge this fact, increase understanding, and take action.
We stand in solidarity with Black Lives Matter and the entire Black community - and all people of color. CSUSM is taking steps to remove systemic barriers and the Department of Public Health is committed to our mission of enhancing wellness and reducing disparities in health through community collaborations and by preparing culturally responsive professionals.
It is essential to learn more and take action. We encourage you to join us by exploring the following resources and any other resources you can find to support your growth and understanding of social justice and the Black Lives Matter movement.
