Making a Payment for a Student

Parents and/or guardians can make payments on behalf of students. Students must first set up a “Parent Pin”, which grants access to their designated parent/guardian to CSUSM’s third-party payment processor.

How to Set Up a Parent Pin

Step 1:  Student must log in to MyCSUSM.

Step 2:  From the Finances section in your Student Center, click the “Make a Payment” button.  Important:  You must have a balance due on your account to be able to setup a Parent Pin and your browser must allow pop-ups.

Step 3:  In the new window, if you have not added a “Payer” to your account, the message below will display.  Click on the “Send a Payer Invitation”.

Step 4:  Include all the requested information.  Be sure to use your parent or guardian’s email address (and not your student email address).  When all information has been entered, click on “Send Invitation”.

A confirmation of your successful invitation will display.  You will have the option to send additional invitations if needed.

Step 5:  Upon completion of the invitation, a welcome email will be sent to the individual you requested, which will include the PIN, a temporary password, and a link to the payment processor.

You can review, at any time, individuals authorized to make a payment on your behalf from the “My Account” link in the payment processor:
