Academic Tutoring & Campus Support

Tutoring

  • The STEM Center is open (both virtually & in-person in STEM South, ELB205). Helps with select BIO, CHEM, CS, MATH, PHYS, & SOC courses.  Drop-in tutoring with no appointment needed.  
  • Math 101 and 105 Assistance (Students can meet these math facilitators as well as the STEM Center above.) 
  • Accounting Lab: For help with ACCT 201, ACCT 202, ACCT 301.  
  • Statistics Help  
  • The Online Writing Center (OWC) supports CSUSMs writers both virtually and in-person through one-on-one consultations, webinars on common writing challenges, and real-time responses to quick questions. Please make an appointment.
  • Learning & Tutoring Services: For help with various courses.
  • Supplemental Instruction: If your ACCT, CHEM, CS, MATH, PSYC, or SLP course is supported by supplemental instruction, further help is available here.
  • Psychology Academic Resource Laboratory (PARL) is a resource for psychology and the social sciences, providing academic support for enhancing quantitative, computing, writing, biological, and research methodology skills. It also offers a variety of specialized computer programs and tutorials on statistics, research methods, psychometrics, and the biological bases of behavior.

Academic Advising

  • Personalized Academic Success Services (PASS): They can help you organize a calendar, prioritize deadlines, communicate with professors, connect to a tutor, or any other academic struggles you may be experiencing.
  • Academic Advising: They can help with your course schedule and dropping a class.  Click on the big blue button on the top right: “Schedule an Advising Appointment.” Login with your CSUSM credentials. Or you can drop in to Administrative Building1300, Markstein Hall 126 or University Hall 221.
