How do I join?

Fraternity & Sorority recruitment is held at the beginning of each fall and spring semester. During recruitment, chapters host events for interested students. 

Eligibility Requirements

  1. 12 college units completed. Transferred college units and AP credit can meet this requirement.
  2. Cumulative 2.5 GPA; some individual chapters maintain an even higher minimum GPA requirement.  Panhellenic sororities determine their organization’s minimum GPA. 
  3. Enrolled in at least 6 units at CSUSM.
  4. In good standing with the university conduct process and not on university probation.

    • IFC Kickoff is on Monday February 5, 2024 at 6pm in USU Ballroom
    • IFC Recruitment will be held February 5 - 9, 2024
    • IFC Bid Day is on Tuesday February 13, 2024 during U-hour

  • Multicultural Fraternity/ Sorority Recruitment and Intake

    Multicultural Greek Council Recruitment/Intake

    • MGC Kickoff is on Thursday February 1, 2024 at 4pm in the QUAD
    • MGC Recruitment will be held February 5 - 9, 2024
    • Please inquire with each chapter to determine who is hosting recruitment/intake

  • Panhellenic Sorority Recruitment

    Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Omicron Pi, Alpha Xi Delta,  Delta Zeta, and Gamma Phi Beta will host formal recruitment January 26-28, 2024.  The cost to register for this process is $35.00. This is a non-refundable administrative fee and does not guarantee an invitation to membership.  The deadline to register for Panhellenic recruitment is Thursday, January 25th at 3:00pm.

    Primary recruitment has concluded, if you are interested in Continuous Open Bidding (COB), please submit an eligibility form and connect with all chapters participating in COB.

FSL 101: New Member Education

Each Fall and Spring semester, new members from all fraternities and sororites are required to attend a mandatory training which covers five major areas of education: alcohol/drug and hazing education, sexual violence prevention and awareness, diversity/inclusion, and academic success.

Using videos, group activities, and reflection, new members are engaged in critical thinking and dialogue about how they can keep themselves and others safe while supporting a community welcoming of all. We are diving into what does it really mean to be Greek at CSUSM.
