Move-out Waste Diversion Data

In order to achieve CSUSM's goal of Zero Waste by 2025, the Move-out program was created to divert waste away from the landfills when students are moving out of the dorms.

  • >2000 food donation items were sent to theNorth COunty Food Bank
  • 2100 donations went to Goodwill

2017

  • >2000 items were sent to the Cougar Pantry
  • ~8000 donations went to Goodwill
  • Some items were used for kitchen reuse

2018

  • >2000 items were sent to the Cougar Pantry
  • 8500 donations went to Goodwill
  • Some items were used for kitchen reuse

2019

  • 2200 items were sent to the Cougar Pantry
  • ~15000 donations went to Goodwill
  • ~1000 items were used for kitchen reuse
  • Some items were donated as hygiene products
