About Dance

CSUSM Dance Team is a competitive, student-run sport club that strives to provide dancers the opportunity to dance at the collegiate level. During their time on our team, dancers are given a safe space to express their talent while also pursuing academic and sport-related goals. Members are empowered to grow as student athletes by training in different dance styles in preparation for various events on campus including sports games, campus rallies, and showcases. With an emphasis on jazz, contemporary, pom, and hip-hop, dancers are provided the unique opportunity to represent CSUSM in a positive and energetic manner, while also preparing to compete at nationally recognized collegiate dance competitions. Our team aspires to attend national competitions in both Anaheim, CA and Daytona Beach, FL, where we hope to gain national recognition as a collegiate team. By inspiring confidence in our members and providing a once in a lifetime opportunity, members are sure to experience immense growth during their time on our team. Let’s go cougars!
