The mission of the College of Education, Health and Human Services (CEHHS) is to prepare
highly skilled and ethical professionals to meet the needs of our region, nation,
and global communities. We promote student-centered learning and a commitment to academic
and inclusive excellence.
CEHHS Vision Statement (Draft as of February 10, 2023)
CEHHS strives to be responsive to the needs of our community by advancing innovative,
evidence-based, socially just, reflective practices in the fields of education, health,
and human services.

The College of Education, Health and Human Services is an academic community dedicated

Goal 1: Authentic Learning and Student Success
Definition: Provide student-centered, research-based teaching and learning that advances professional knowledge and skills for all students using innovation and technology.
Sub-goals
1.1 Identify current classroom technology and create a plan to advance technology.
1.2 Create a survey to collect post-graduation employment data of CEHHS students.
1.3 Create and administer a student questionnaire to assess the use of high-impact practices.
1.4 Identify and allocate funding for high-impact teaching and learning practices.
1.5 Collect and analyze course DFW and 4-year graduation rates.Z
Goal 2: Collaborative and Supportive Work Environments
Definition: Sustain work conditions that promote physical and mental wellness among CEHHS employees.
Sub-goals
2.1 Identify and improve retention rates of CEHHS staff and faculty.
2.2 Collect and address data on staff and faculty employment experience.
2.3 Build a CEHHS staff standing committee.
2.4 Hold annual administration-led faculty and staff listening sessions.
2.5 Identify and implement opportunities for CEHHS community socialization.
Goal 3: Professional Advancement, Innovation, and Scholarly Work
Definition: Faculty, staff, and administrators engage in professional development opportunities
and/or research as a means to forward the mission of CEHHS and the University - positioning
discovery, creative thinking, generation of new knowledge, and intellectual excellence.
Sub-goals
3.1 Increase staff, lecturers, and TT faculty professional development fund allocations.
3.2 Share and increase faculty and student-led publications and presentations.
3.3 Identify and increase internship and service learning hours.
3.4 Calculate and share total amount of internal and external award funding.
Goal 4: Commitment, Equity, and Inclusive Engagement
Definition: Identify complex cultural, social, emotional, and political barriers and create intentional
strategies to overcome and advance engagement with CEHHS stakeholders.
Sub-goals
4.1 Create and administer student survey to identify cultural, social, emotional, and
political barriers.
4.2 Hold town hall meetings with community constituents to identify the needs of our community.
