Border Advocacy and Migrant Rights
- Haitian migrants have taken a dangerous journey in hopes of making it past the border, as they had been informed that the border was open. Instead, they were met with brutality and racism from border agents, and were told to return. The inhumane actions of the agents and politicians are what led to this treatment, and we must advocate for change regarding our current border policies.
- Students will learn more about the border, migrant and immigrant treatment, and ways that they can take actions themselves within the San Diego Immigrant Rights Consortium.
- Discussion facilitated by local advocacy non-profit Universidad Popular.
- Tuesday, April 19 from 12:00 - 1:00 PM | Virtual
Voter Suppression
-
- Join us for a lively virtual discussion about voter suppression: what it is, how it is enforced and it's impact on your current voting rights. The north county chapter of the League of Women Voters will facilitate this discussion with students.
