Civic Engagement Initiatives
The Department of Civic Engagement provides opportunities for students to develops civic knowledge and participate in democrate engagement in a healthy democracy through opportunities for civic dialogue and direct engagement with local issues, both on- and off-campus. Through initiatives such as Speaking of Democracy, Days of Service, Civic Action Parties, and Town Hall Meetings, students gain confidence in their personal capabilities and gain awareness of the positive impact they have on the community. Civic Action Plan
On March 1, 2016, President Karen S. Haynes signed the Campus Compact 30th Anniversary
Action Statement of Presidents and Chancellors.
