Welcome to the Student Health and Counseling Services website!
I hope that during your time here at Cal State San Marcos, you can benefit from all
the services we have to offer, and more. You’ll learn to be healthy not only by coming
to SHCS, but also through our website and our outreach efforts. From time to time,
we will try to reach you on campus and remind you to make healthy choices alongside
your busy student life. Check us out on Facebook or Instagram to see the latest news, events or programs.
Studies show a significant connection between academic performance and nutrition, physical activity, alcohol use, and violence. Students who develop a healthy lifestyle in an environment that supports healthy choices will likely have the best academic outcomes. The professionals at SHCS are dedicated to providing services in a warm, caring, and professional environment.
We, along with the other Student Development Services units, hold to the Wellness Model for success. We want to provide a proactive approach to living for our students, and to help them make positive choices in creating and promoting healthy lifestyles.
Mandatory COVID-19 vaccination status, or those with approved exemptions, required weekly COVID-19 testing are in place to maximize the health and safety of our campus community. Masking indoors, avoiding large gatherings, and good hand hygiene will be the focus as we begin this academic year.
We are eager to return to a more normal on campus experience for you this school year and will offer in-person and telemedicine (when appropriate) appointments going forward. I encourage you to visit SHCS, use our services, ask questions, and to engage your mind, body, and soul as you journey to your academic success, and beyond.
If you have a compliment, suggestion or complaint regarding our staff or services that was provided, please complete the Patient Suggestion Form and email us. Thank you for visiting our site and helping us provide great care for you. Bleed Blue!
