Message to Parents
We would like to welcome you to the Student Health & Counseling Services (SHCS), your student's accredited health clinic on campus.
At SHCS, we provide holistic health care services that include acute medical care, psychiatry, psychological counseling, and pharmacy. For us to provide equitable and accessible services to all students, our services tend to be brief in nature. Our staff includes physicians, nurse practitioners, psychiatrist, psychologists, case manager, pharmacist, health educators and advocates, nurses, and administrative staff. We provide services via in-person or virtual appointments in order to accommodate the needs of the students and our staff, which include the needs of health safety and accessibility. In particular, Zoom therapy sessions for mental health counseling have been much appreciated by the students who had limited time to visit or stay on campus and the staff who themselves are dealing with multiple responsibilities during COVID. SHCS will continue to be flexible and innovative in meeting the evolving needs of our students.
We also provide Health Education outreach activities and programs to students on campus and through the information on our web site. We have a Facebook and Instagram account with the latest updates. SHCS is fully-accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), assuring that our facility meets/exceeds national standards for outpatient care and continues to actively support your student’s success.
If your student requires care and services beyond our capabilities, we will work with them to identify community resources to meet those needs (or provide direction to their health insurance, if they are covered).
Our staff is kind and compassionate professionals and human beings who really care about our students. So, we want to assure you that when your student seeks help from us, they will be in good hands. If you have any questions about our services, please feel free to contact us online at firstname.lastname@example.org or directly at (760) 750-4915.
