Graduate Assistant for Government Affairs

As a function of ASI, the Board of Directors (BOD) provides the campus with a wide variety of activities and programs geared toward supporting and representing the student voice on campus. The entity is comprised of sixteen student members that work collaboratively to express student opinions, foster awareness of student issues, and protect the rights and interests of students. The Graduate Assistant for Government Affairs will work as a generalist to support BOD (90%) and the Volunteer Team, Lobby Corps, (10%). This person will primarily be assisting with logistics, student staff/volunteers and programmatic needs within ASI.

This is an hourly position/$16.50 per hour

Programming Specialists for Campus Activities Board

 As a function of the Associated Students, Inc. at Cal State San Marcos, the Campus Activities Board provides the campus with a wide variety of activities and programs geared toward increasing the quality of life on campus. The division is comprised of several student members that work collaboratively toward creating programs and services that appeal to all students enrolled at CSUSM. The Programming Specialist position will be responsible for maintaining, developing, and supporting educational and social programs and activities at Cal State San Marcos, as well as collaborating with other Campus Activities Board Specialists in creating a semester calendar and innovative campus wide traditions. This person will serve as the student spokesperson for all of the focus areas established each semester, which include but are not limited to novelty and variety, community service and engagement, pride and traditions, marketing and outreach, and on-the-road programs which fall in line with the CSUSM Co-Curricular Model.

We are hiring two people for this position. This is an hourly position/$15.00 per hour

Graduate Assistant for Student Engagement

As a function of ASI, the Campus Activities Board (CAB) provides the campus with a wide variety of activities and programs geared toward increasing the quality of life on campus. The entity is comprised of six student members that work collaboratively toward creating programs and services that appeal to all students enrolled at CSUSM. The ASI Volunteer Program is comprised of five teams: Highlighting Your Programs and Events (HYPE), Creating Art For Events (CAFE), Volunteer Event Support Team (VEST), Lobby Corps, and ASI Cougar Pantry Volunteers and Interns. These volunteers provide support for marketing and outreach, programs, and initiatives to uphold the ASI mission. The Graduate Assistant for Student Engagement will work as a generalist to support both CAB (70%) and the ASI Volunteer Program (30%). This person will be responsible for creating, implementing, and assessing programming initiatives and fostering an inclusive environment in ASI. This person will primarily be assisting with logistics, student staff/volunteers, and programmatic needs within ASI.

Representation Opportunities 

These are representative positions within the ASI Board of Directors. Those in representative positions are volunteers who receive a $500 semester scholarship, priority registration, and a parking permit.

College of Education, Health & Human Services (CEHHS) Representative (2)

As a function of the Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) of Cal State San Marcos, the Board of Directors is the official voice to express student opinions, foster awareness of student issues, and protect the rights and interests of students. This position may represent views, issues and concerns of members of CEHHS to address issues of inequity or concern. They will also host outreach events to serve and connect with CEHHS students, and attend committees as assigned.
