ASI Board of Directors Elections

On behalf of the ASI Elections Committee, welcome to the elections page for the Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) Board of Directors! We recommend those seeking the opportunity to serve the needs of CSUSM students by participating in the shared governance of California State University San Marcos.

The ASI Elections Committee and the ASI Elections are governed by the ASI Bylaws. The ASI Elections Committee has authority to oversee the elections process.

All matriculated students who pay the ASI student body fee at California State University San Marcos are eligible to vote. Students will vote for representative candidates of their college, student-at-large representatives, and executive officers.

Please note: When you apply you will need to have a few things ready:

# of semesters and units completed at CSUSM
Cumulative and fall 2025 semester GPA

You will also be asked to confirm if you have read the ASI Elections Guidelines & Procedures as well as ASI Bylaws for the position you are applying for. If you have not read those documents, you can find below. We recommend you read them prior to submission.

You will also be asked to attach a campaign statement that will be used on the ASI website during campaigning if you are approved as a candidate as well as the online ballot during voting. Within your campaign statement, we recommend including your major, class standing, and how you will work toward ASI's mission to serve, engage, empower CSUSM students. We recommend highlighting your accomplishments, efforts on campus, and why they should elect YOU! Campaign statement must not exceed a maximum of 350 words. ASI will only confirm word count- we will not make any grammatical edits to your statement on your behalf.
