The Graduation Initiative (GI) 2025's goal is to increase retention and graduation rates for all CSU students while eliminating opportunity and achievement gaps. Through this initiative, the CSU will focus its attention to ensure that all students have the opportunity to graduate in a timely manner. The GI 2025 follows the success of the CSU's first graduation initiative launched in 2009.
GI 2025 at CSU San Marcos is a campus-wide effort to help students attain the goal of a bachelor’s degree. The initiative builds upon work done by the CSUSM campus community over the last decade to strengthen students' learning experience while providing them clear pathways to graduation.
As of September 1, 2017, CSUSM is on its way to meeting the goals articulated in our September 2016 Student Success Plan, CSUSM's plan for realizing GI 2025. We are meeting these goals by focusing on initiatives that are closing achievement gaps, improving advisement, and optimizing enrollment management.
