Sanford (Sandy) Friedman, BS, MS, MBA, CFPIM, CIRM, PMP, ITIL
Sandy is a senior project manager, PMO at CGI. He has over 30 years of industry experience
in management, project management, consulting, teaching and systems development in
aerospace and defense, biomedical, pharmaceutical, healthcare as well as manufacturing,
logistics and distribution industries. Sandy is a past president of APICS-Los Angeles,
and recently served as ambassador for the San Diego chapter. He was also a board member
of the Los Angeles Aerospace and Defense Special Interest Group (LA-ADSIG), and is
the recipient of the APICS Milt Cook Award for 2008.
Homero Escandon, CSCP, CLTD, PMP, LSSBB, CPDW
Homero has over 22 years of experience in Operations and Supply Chain roles across
multiple industries. He is currently Vice President of Supply Chain and Operational
Excellence for Biotix, Inc. – a world class manufacturer of laboratory consumables
and liquid handling solutions. He has previously held the positions of Director of
Logistics; Sr. Manager, Warehouse & Logistics; Manager, Logistics & Inventory; Logistics
Manager; and Logistics Engineering Manager. He has worked for companies such as Northrop
Grumman, LISI Aerospace, and United Technologies Corporation. Homero spent 11 years
active duty in the United States Marine Corps, including two deployments to Iraq in
support of the Global War on Terrorism. During his time in the military, Homero held
roles such as Distribution Operations Manager, Logistics Systems Manager, Recruiter,
Supply Chief, Supply Supervisor, and Supply Clerk. Homero holds a Bachelor of Science
in Organizational Leadership and a Master of Business Administration. His certifications
include CSCP, CLTD, PMP, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB), Certified Professional
in Distribution & Warehousing (CPDW), and Certified DISC Practitioner. Homero is currently
the President of the APICS-San Diego Chapter.
Kim Kohler, CPIM, CSCP
Kim has over 15 years of experience in the supply chain field. She has held positions
in manufacturing, project management, production planning, and procurement. She is
currently working for Argonaut Manufacturing Services in Carlsbad. She has a Bachelor’s
of Science Degree from the University of Wisconsin in Eau Claire and received her
CPIM certification in 2015 and CSCP in 2016.
Kim began teaching CPIM courses with APICS in 2016 and is currently the Director of
Education, CPIM and VP of Education for the APICS- San Diego Chapter. She enjoys
sharing her knowledge and passion with others interested in supply chain and operations.
