First Night Celebration

Join us on Forum Plaza to celebrate the first day of the academic year! One of ASI's long-standing traditions, this event used to take place down at The Clarke Field House before the University Student Union was built!

CougarFest

CougarFest first debuted as part of Homecoming Week at CSUSM! Like many traditions, it's evolved over time, but it always has an awesome, spirited giveaway and a whole lot of spirit! Note: Giveaway is only for current CSUSM students. 

Love Your Body Day

Join us as we team up with the Gender Equity Center to celebrating body diversity to create a body-positive culture at CSUSM! Love Your Body Day is an annual event that is meant to empower you. Whatever body shape, we want to make them feel good about themselves, and empower them in a positive way! Fun Fact: ASI established the Women's Center in April of 2006! In 2013 the name was changed to the Gender Equity Center and 2019 the center joined the Student Life Centers for Identity, Inclusion, and Empowerment

Free Movie Night

Thanks to Edwards San Marcos, this tradition has been alive for over 11 years! Currently enrolled CSUSM students will be able to swing on by for a free movie in a theatre filled with CSUSM Cougars!

ASI Cougar Pantry Ribbon Cutting

The ASI Cougar Pantry began when the ASI Board of Directors proposed a resolution for an on-campus food pantry. We first launched the Bite Out Hunger campaign to educate the campus about food insecurity and to ask our campus partners to help us combat this issue. Together, the CSUSM community donated over 600 lbs of food to help us stock our pop-up pantry! We first opened the doors to our 700ish sq foot location in 2019 and now we're inviting everyone out to celebrate opening the doors of our new, 1,400 sq foot location!

CSUSM Giving Day

Giving day is a day that tugs at our hear strings! Join us this year as we raise money for the ASI Cougar Pantry so that we can serve even more students and continue to fight food insecurity! More information to come!

Hike & Explore Torrey Pines with Campus REC

Did you know that Campus REC used to be a part of ASI? We're partnering up to bring you a traditional, Outdoor Adventure! Come along with the team on the Torrey Pines Hike! Torrey Pines State Natural ReserveĀ® is located within San Diego city limits and yet remains one of the wildest stretches of land on our Southern California coast! This beautiful must-see location is visited by travelers from all over the world for the stunning overlooks, walk a peaceful trail, or exercise in a clean, beautiful environment.

Sunset Yoga

We're partnering up with Campus REC and Tukwut Life for this one! Yoga has long been an essential program here on campus and yoga at sunset? Even better. Hope to see you there! First 20 participants will receive a branded yoga mat.

Alternative Spring Break

Alternative Spring Break, lovingly referred to as ASB, is one of our longest standing traditions! The first trip took place in 2004 where a group of students worked with GLIDE in San Francisco! Since then the ASBers have worked with Habitat for Humanity chapters around the nation as well as Living Lands and Waters in Memphis, Tennessee! Tukwut Leadership Awards Night (TLAN)

Tukwut Leadership Awards Night (TLAN) recognizes individuals, as well as campus and student groups, for their outstanding leadership and commitment to making student life thrive at CSUSM. Associated Students, Inc. is a proud sponsor of an event that highlights the work of campus leaders who, through service to our community, engagement in campus growth, and empowerment of future generations, leave a legacy at CSUSM. 

Festival 78

APRIL 2022 | 3:00 PM | MANGRUM TRACK AND FIELD
WHO'S INVITED: CURRENT CSUSM STUDENTS

On April 22, 2017 the first ever Festival 78 took place on the Mangrum Track & Field. With 698 tickets sold and a team of 76 student and staff volunteers from across campus, the event was a success! The feedback from students was positive and confirmed that the event would in fact be a priority for years to come! Check back for more information!

Second Chance Prom

Join us as we team up with the LGBTQA Pride Center. This event is for anyone who wants to attend an open and inclusive prom at CSUSM! This event is a collaboration with our ASI Student at Large for Sustainability and will highlight sustainable clothing options to give it a "second chance"!  Join us for the fun and the fashion show to give the attendees and the clothing at the event an opportunity at this second chance. 30 Year Celebration & Reunion
