Employment

Employment eligibility and options for F-1 foreign students are limited by U.S. immigration regulations and are available only to students who have maintained lawful F-1 student status and are in good academic standing.

In all cases, students are required to obtain the prior, written authorization of either the Office of Global Education or the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) before beginning employment. Students should not work without specific authorization from either The Office of Global Education or the USCIS. Failure to obtain prior authorization constitutes a serious violation of U.S. immigration regulations.

This page covers the various types of employment eligibilities students may seek while in F-1 international student status.  Please make an appointment with an advisor to discuss these options in detail.
