CLIMB Celebrates It's 20th Anniversary
The Center for Leadership Innovation and Mentorship Building (CLIMB) was established in the Fall of 2004 and is proudly celebrating its 20th anniversary in Fall 2024. It was launched to provide a service to the campus community and the community at large, and to help carry out the mission of both the University and CoBA. At universities across the country, leadership centers act as catalysts for research and discussion and serve as an easy entry point for local businesses to get connected to the university in various capacities. CLIMB’s mission is to foster the development of effective leaders at all levels - individual, team, organization, and community and to build effective networks between the campus and external community. This mission is achieved by offering educational programs such as the popular course, In the Executive’s Chair, funding for non-profit Senior Experience projects (Compassionate Leadership Experience and Mangrum Leadership Experience), leadership seminars featuring a variety of leadership topics for the benefit of both the campus and external communities, and mentoring opportunities to current and aspiring leaders, and by promoting innovative leadership research. CLIMB is led by CoBA professor, Dr. Raj Pillai with support from Dr. Jeff Kohles and over the years by student and faculty associates and the business community including CoBA alumni.
