Virtual Spring 2021 Networking Reception 

Thursday, May 20th 5:30-6:00 PM

Each semester the College of Business Administration (CoBA) holds a signature networking event for the North County San Diego business community! This Fall 2020, the event will be held virtually and will include focused business discussions led by faculty! Networking will take place from 5:30-6:00 PM and will offer breakout room discussions led by faculty experts on financial markets, entrepreneurship, or workplace communication. Guests are then invited to attend the proceeding CoBA Senior Experience Trade Show from 6:00-7:00 PM. This trade show will showcase senior business students' final projects in a new virtual format. Attendees can visit student team booths via breakout zoom meetings where they can learn about student research and business solutions the team provided for sponsoring organizations.

Join your fellow business professionals and graduating students for a discussion of ideas, innovation, and improvement of the local business region. This event is FREE for all attendees and open to the public!

Workplace Communication

Assistant Professor of Management. Dr. Kim McCarthy of has spent years researching workplace communication, incivility, and high-performance teams. Join her for a breakout discussion about workplace frustrations with a focus on "venting" and its impact on the organization, especially post Covid-19.

Financial Markets & CSUSM Cougar Fund

Professor Andreas Rauterkus, Department Chair of the Finance Department, will host a session discussing current financial market trends and the success of the student-run investment fund, CSUSM Cougar Fund. Learn about how students, with his faculty oversight, have skillfully managed a portfolio with $200,000 in assets under management


Assistant Professor of Management, Dr. Sam Clarke, shares insights on how start up founders develop innovative and competitive business models to meet the needs of their customers. Join him for a breakout discussion on entrepreneurship and learn more about the new CSUSM Innovation Hub!
