William Byun

Mr. Byun is the Principal managing the Conchubar Group’s US$ 100 million PE fund in Asia, focused on industrial policy related infrastructure. He has more than 25 years practice in emerging markets investments and infrastructure transactions, including in energy, chemicals, climate change, and agribusiness, in China, India, Northeast and Southeast Asia. He also advises various governments and state-linked investment enterprises in Asia on infrastructure investments and on renewables and energy policy. A New York licensed attorney, William was a US Fulbright Scholar to the Ministry of Finance of Korea, and had been with the Office of General Counsel with US OPIC. In addition to publishing and lecturing widely in the energy and investment field, he is also an adjunct faculty for the College of Business at California State University, San Marcos and a Judge on the International Award Committee for the Global Energy Prize in Russia.
