Steve Bowers

Steve has over 35 years’ experience creating value in shopping center ownership, development, acquisitions and management. He was the President, CEO and partner in Terramar Retail Centers, LLC (now TRC Retail), a Carlsbad-based developer and owner of over 25 high quality retail centers in California, Oregon, Washington and Colorado. Steve joined Terramar as Chief Operating Officer, later forming a new venture with a state pension fund capital partner to expand the portfolio through acquisitions, development and operating growth to over $1 billion in valuation.

Prior to Terramar, Steve was Senior VP at JLL Retail, leading its Western Region retail activities including new business development, shopping center development, leasing, property management and key investor relationships. Steve was also President and CEO of Plaza Properties, successfully repositioning a national portfolio of enclosed malls and specialty centers. Other roles include senior level retail portfolio responsibilities for The Irvine Company, CBRE, and The Hahn Company. He has been a frequent speaker, panelist and contributor to the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), the Urban Land Institute (ULI), and the Advisory Board for the Fisher Center for Real Estate and Urban Economics at the University of California at Berkeley. Steve has an MBA in Finance and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, both from San Diego State University.

Steve has also been a mentor in the College of Business Administration to BA and MBA students as they launch their professional careers.
