Health Plans

Eligible employees have group medical, dental and vision plans from which to choose coverage.  Employees may cover themselves, their eligible spouse or registered domestic partner and eligible dependent children (up to age 26).

For those that have their own group medical or dental coverage, outside of the CSU, employees may be eligible to receive cash in lieu of the CSU medical and dental coverage by enrolling in the FlexCash Program.

Available Health Plans

Medical Plans
Medical Plans are offered CalPERS, providing 10 HMO and 3 PPO plan options, in the Southern California area. The cost of monthly premiums is shared between the CSU and the employee, with the CSU's portion often covering the full amount.
Dental Plans
Dental Plans are offered through Delta Dental, providing both an HMO or PPO plan. The CSU pays 100% of the monthly premium for our employees and their dependents, for either plan.
Vision Plans
Vision Plans are offered through VSP, providing a Basic Plan and a Premier Plan. The CSU pays 100% of the monthly premium for our employees and their dependents under the Basic Plan. Employees can voluntarily enhance their plan by electing the Premier plan for a small additional monthly premium.
FlexCash Program
For employees who have their own group medical or dental coverages, outside of the CSU, may be eligible to receive cash in lieu of CSU plan coverage.
