External Websites

Links to External Websites - Update 

While CSUSM does not restrict linking to external websites, we believe it's important for content creators to consider the purpose of linking to an external website, provide a short description of the external site prior to adding the link, and conduct a brief accessibility review before linking to the external site and publishing the page.

In our continuing effort to enhance accessibility, we will be offering training sessions in the coming months which includes how to review sites, linking to external sites, web accessibility requirements, and how to make your website and all associated files (Flow Charts, PDF, Word, PPT) accessible. The training will additionally cover best practices and techniques for ensuring that our digital content is inclusive and usable by all individuals. 

Exiting Campus Website - Update 

As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance accessibility and transparency for our website visitors, we have implemented an icon to external links and asking content creators to be selective in linking to external websites. You will not need to do anything for this icon to appear. IITS added an icon on Thursday, March 21 to notify visitors that they are exiting the campus website. You can preview this new icon on our development page.
