Introducing Duo Universal Prompt
We are implementing changes due to the recent phishing attacks that have targeted our university. Unfortunately, some individuals have fallen victim to these attacks by either mistakenly approving unauthorized Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) push notifications or disclosing their Duo passcodes to the attackers.
DO NOT share your CSUSM password, Duo Passcode, or Duo Authentication numbers with anyone. If someone asks you for any of these via email or text message consider them suspicious and do not respond; first reach out to abuse@csusm.edu. This goes for any any suspicious activity, please report and get a second opinion.
What is changing with DUO Prompt?
- The Traditional Duo Prompt experience, the prompt that displays directly on a web page when you login.
- Instead, Duo is introducing the Universal Prompt, a next-generation authentication experience.
What Is the Universal Prompt?
- The Universal Prompt provides a simplified and accessible Duo login experience for
web-based applications.
- Redesigned Interface: The Universal Prompt offers a fresh visual design.
- Security Enhancements: It maintains a consistent look across different authentication methods (e.g., push, passcode, biometrics).
- Browser Compatibility: Works seamlessly in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and Internet Explorer.
Why are we changing?
- After March 30, 2024 the Traditional DUO Prompt will no longer be supported by DUO; so we must switch over.
