Cyber Security Awareness Month 2024

Cybersecurity awareness month

This is the 21st year recognizing Cyber Security Awareness Month. We continue to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity. We want to  ensure that our campus members have the resources they need to be safer and more secure online. This can be accomplished with simple actions, these are things we should do not only during Cybersecurity Awareness Month, but every day throughout the year.

Cybersecurity Awarness Themes

Week 1 - Use strong passwords and a password manager
Week 2 - Turn on multifactor authentication
Week 3 - Recognize and report phishing
Week 4 - Update software

Reporting Incidents

Sometimes you can do everything right and things still happen.

  • Report any suspected incidents (compromised credentials, unauthorized access, etc.) of computing systems or data to your supervisor and the HelpDesk.
  • Also report lost or missing University computing equipment to the Campus Police (and to the local authorities if the incident occurred away from campus).
