Google Deactivation
As part of CSUSM’s ongoing transition from Google to Microsoft services, all CSUSM Google accounts will be deactivated on October 1, 2025. This includes Gmail, Drive, Docs, Photos, and other Google Workspace tools.
- CSUSM Google accounts will be deactivated on Oct. 1, 2025.
- Emails cannot be forwarded to other email accounts.
- Former students will not retain their @cougars.csusm.edu addresses
- Former students should download or transfer files and update any personal apps or services linked to your CSUSM Google account.
- Former students will not be transitioning to Microsoft tools.
- Current students should begin using Microsoft 365 and move files accordingly.
- Former and current students should start the process early to avoid data loss or service interruptions.
Over the past few years, we’ve been gradually moving toward a more unified set of digital tools. This final step is about completing that transition. By retiring the CSUSM Google Workspace, our goal is to reduce platform confusion, streamline the tools we support, and create a more secure, consistent technology environment for our students, faculty, and staff.
To avoid losing access to your data or services, we highly advise that you take the following steps as soon as possible.
For Alumni and Former Students
- Download or transfer your files from your CSUSM Google accounts to a personal account.
- Update any personal apps or services linked to your CSUSM Google account to a personal account.
