How to forget the campus Wi-Fi network on your wireless devices (laptop, phone, tablet)

As you first arrive back to campus, it is important that you forget the CSUSM Wi-Fi network on your wireless devices (laptops, phones, tablets). The following instructions will guide you through that process.

If you do not do this for each device you bring with you, your account could get locked and you will be unable to log in to your computer. If that happens, follow the guide to forget the CSUSM Wi-Fi network, wait 15-20 minutes, and try logging in to your computer again. 

  • Desktop - Windows 10

    To forget a wireless network in Windows 10:

    1. At the bottom right in the system tray, click the network icon  and choose Network & Internet settings.

    2. Click Manage Wi-Fi settings.

    3. Under "Manage known networks", select the Wi-Fi network to be removed.

    4. Click Forget.

  • Desktop - Mac OS

    To forget a wireless network in macOS:

    1. At the top of your screen, click the Wi-Fi symbol  and then select Open Network Preferences.
    2. In the lower right, choose Advanced.
    3. Under "Preferred Networks", select the Wi-Fi network to be removed.
    4. Click - (the minus sign) to forget the network.
    5. Click OK.
  • Mobile - iOS

    To forget a wireless network on your iPhone or iPad:

    1. From the home screen, choose Settings.
    2. In the settings menu, choose Wi-Fi.
    3. Locate the Wi-Fi network to be removed and click the blue symbol next to the name.
    4. If the option to forget the network is available, tap Forget this Network. If that option is not available:
      1. From the home screen, choose Settings.
      2. In the settings menu, choose General.
      3. Locate and tap Profile.
      4. Select the profile for Wi-Fi network to be removed, and tap Delete profile.
  • Mobile - Android

    To forget a wireless network on your Android mobile device:

    1. From the home screen, choose Settings.
    2. In the settings menu, choose Wi-Fi.
    3. Press and hold the Wi-Fi network to be removed, and then choose Forget.

  

Connection Instructions to campus Wi-Fi networks

As a member of the CSUSM community you can connect to the wireless (WiFi) network using your campus username and password.  All campus visitors can connect to WiFi via the guest network by providing an email address to authenticate.

In addition, CSUSM provides a connection to eduroam, a global wireless network for research and education.  Eduroam provides wireless access at participating institutions through the use of their home institution credentials.

What is eduroam?

eduroam (education roaming) is a secure, world-wide roaming access service developed for the international research and education community. Several other CSUs and UCs are already part of the eduroam network for its flexibility, ease of use, and security. Eduroam gives you the ability connect on campus, and at participating eduroam hotspots.
