Cougar Courses Experiencing Intermittent Issues

Moodle continues to be stable with the calendar feature and right navigation functions disabled due to their negative impact on performance.  IITS continues to work on the Moodle probelm daily to address this underlying issue and restore these features.

8AM Sytstem Status/Update
 
Moodle continues to be stable and operating normally since changes were made mid-day yesterday.  As previsouly noted, IITS has suppressed the calendar feature and right navigation functions that were bringing the system to an unresponsive state.
 
This posting will be kept up as an informational item.  Further updates will only be posted if there is an unscheduled maintenance event or if system performance degrades again.

Moodle has been stable since IITS made changes mid-day to suppress the calendar feature and right navigation functions that were creating an inordinate number of database reads and bringing down the system to an unresponsive state.
 
For the time being, CSUSM will continue to operate Cougar Course with this configuration while we monitor performance and evaluate alternatives.

IITS has made system changes to Cougar Courses in order to address the slow performance.  At the present time, the issues appear to be related to the calendar functionality.  Overall, Cougar Courses is responding normally, but these changes have disabled the calendar function.  All other system functions remain operational. 

IITS is continuing to work on the underlying performance issues.

IITS continues to work on addressing the excessive load issues that are impacting the system. Changes made at 10am had no substantive effect. Technicians are continuing to monitor and investigate additional options.

Cougar Courses is currently experiencing intermittent issues that might prevent you from logging in. If that occurs, please try again in a few minutes.

The issues are related to high demand as the campus community is logging into Cougar Courses for the first day of the semester. 

We are currently working on resolving the issues and expect Cougar Courses to return to normal operations by 10:30am. Please keep monitoring this post for status updates.
