AWS Service Issues Affecting Login/Authentication to Campus Systems
Audiences: Faculty  Staff  Students 

AWS services have been stable since 8:30 AM and DUO is fully operational.  CSUSM will be re-enabling DUO by 11am.

As of 8:20, IITS has disabled DUO so that faculty and students can access Cougar Courses.  We will re-enable DUO when the service issues clear.

As of 8am Amazon is reporting that they have identified the issue with connectivity affecting the western US.  Connectivity is improving.  Continue to monitor for resolution.

The CSUSM campus community is being impacted this morning due to an AWS (Amazon Web Services) issue that is affecting our authentication services (DUO).  The ability to login is intermittent and we recommend waiting and trying again every 5 to 10 minutes.  We are monitoring both Microsoft, DUO, and AWS for updates.

Cougar Courses, Office 365 (all platforms), Outlook, Cougar Apps, and most systems with two-factor authentication are affected.
