Web Accessibility & Request for External Website Domain

Guidance for Websites Used for Student Instruction

CSUSM is committed to ensuring that the campus web environment is accessible to everyone. Having content compliant to accessibility standards follows Official Campus Policy, aligns with CSUSM culture, and is backed by Federal and State laws. Website accessibility, including those used for student instruction, is a shared responsibility between web content creators and the accessible technology team. Visit the web accessibility requirements page to learn more about making your website accessible and how to get assistance.

Request External Website Domain

Instructional and Information Technology Services (IITS) is responsible for the csusm.edu domain and provides subdomains for official university colleges, departments, and divisions; activities and events; and university-wide services. There are times when a non-university website domain is necessary for academic, research, student instruction, or special projects. This procedure for requesting non-university website domains aims to streamline the approval process and define the boundaries for acquiring such domains.

Highlights of the updated procedure:

  • Submit a request form with the purpose of the external website and justification for why a subdomain at csusm.edu cannot be used.
  • Department, College, and/or Division approval.
  • Participate in annual accessibility training.
