Website Compliance & Document Scanning

CSUSM is committed to ensuring that the campus web environment is accessible to everyone. Having content compliant to accessibility standards follows Official Campus Policy, aligns with CSUSM culture, and is backed by Federal and State laws.

Website accessibility is a shared responsibility between web content creators and the accessible technology team. Visit the web accessibility requirements page to learn more about making your website accessible and how to get assistance.

Website Monitoring

Monitoring the CSUSM website for any potential accessibility issues is a continuous process. Monthly reports are generated and submitted periodically to the CIO for administrative review.

Identifying Issues

When accessibility issues are identified, the ATI Coordinator contacts the content creator directly with a break down of the issue(s) noted, information on how to remediate the issue, and an example of corrected content.

Document Accessibility

Ensuring the website is accessible is a shared responsibility between Instructional and Information Technology Services (IITS) and everyone who creates documents that are posted on the csusm.edu website. IITS provides live training and self-paced training through specific guides that step participants through the process of making documents (Flow Charts, PDF, Word, PPT) accessible. It is important that documents are made accessible prior to posting them on the website. Contact us to schedule a department training. Asynchronous training will be available in May 2024.
