Staying Connected with the Campus App

Spring 2019

Adoption is high for the CSUSM Campus App. Since the initial deployment in 2016, the Campus App has become a popular tool for students to quickly and easily find orientation information, access the campus maps, stay engaged with campus events and register for classes or check grades. Comparing Fall 2017 with Fall 2018, downloads of the Campus App have increased 65%. The usage shows that there were 1,923 users who have accessed the mobile app each day of the Fall 2018 semester. We have also seen that most campus users utilize the Campus App to connect to their courses as the top functions used throughout the Fall 2018 semester were:

  • Cougar Courses (279,851)
  • myCSUSM (186,774)
  • Message Center (47,857) a new feature for the Fall 2018

When students are on the go, the App keeps them connected and productive. Usage will continue to be analyzed as new features are introduced and additional functionality is added to the Campus App.  For example,  in Fall 2018, analysis shows that there have been over 1 million page views in just the top 10 functions.
