Fast Tracking Technology Support with 2 new Electric Carts

Spring 2019

In an effort to increase our customer service availability and efficiency, IITS recently purchased 2 new electric carts. You might see these new vehicles throughout campus as IITS staff and student assistants navigate campus in the two new machines. The additional carts will help IITS better support the campus community and respond to requests in a timely and efficient manner. These vehicles allow us to easily secure computers, monitors and other equipment in the enclosed areas on the carts. One of the new carts will be primarily used for classroom support and the second is for the IITS Help Desk or various IITS support areas as needed. The new carts are a much needed addition (to our fleet of 5 total vehicles) since the number of support calls have increased and the older carts and service van have aged. In addition to the increased availability of IITS support, the IITS team can continue to foster the campus culture of sustainability as the carts are electric, clean transportation, and help reduce energy costs used by campus operations. This is an example of how IITS is fast tracking campus technology support in a sustainable way. (Posted January 2019)
