The migration process:
How can you best prepare for the migration?
As with moving your home, there are usually a number of items that can be donated and/or trashed. Moving data in the cloud is no different. Please take a few minutes and delete anything on your BOX account that is no longer required. This will help speed up the migration as well as simplify our follow up with you the day after.
If you have non-work related files, like personal photos, music, and/or videos, we suggest you use something like a consumer-level product like DropBox, Apple’s iCloud, Amazon Drive or Google Drive. All are free to use and provide 2 GB – 10 GB of space each.
File metadata (date modified) will be preserved! We know this was an important aspect for many with our previous provider, but we can confirm that files themselves will not be altered in this migration.
What do you need to do the night of your migration?
When you leave the office the night of your migration, please log off your CSUSM computer (Laptop or Desktop), but leave the computer powered on.
