Summer Faculty Workshops on Classroom and Live & Online Technologies

Join IITS for summer technology workshops and learn how to effectively utilize the new technologies in the Live & Online classrooms, various whiteboard software that can be used on an iPad or in the L&O classrooms, Microsoft Teams, Cougar Courses reports & analytics, student engagement using H5P, Zoom tools such as polls and breakout rooms, and leveraging multimedia to flip your course. Additional workshops include geographic information systems (GIS), Cougar Courses tips & tricks, course mapping, transparent assignment design, assessment tools, and creating accessible course materials.

Some Teams phones users have been receiving spam calls from numbers starting with 760 750. Callers have been requesting social security numbers and other personal information.

If you do not recognize a number calling you on your Teams phone or the caller ID indicates a call might be spam, please do not answer the call and do not disclose any personal information.  

Fall Classroom Upgrades

CSUSM has been working on upgrading many of our classrooms to better support different modes of instruction for Fall 2021 and beyond.

Specifically, we are in the process of installing cameras, microphones, and digital whiteboards to support Live and Online courses. We are also replacing faculty lectern chairs (seen below) and lecterns to better accomodate instructor preferences.

This short preview video demonstrates the tracking capabilities of the new camera system as well as the new microphones and digital whiteboard. These new tools can improve student classroom experience, especially for students attending the class remotely.
